Search Engine Optimization is made up of two words First is Search Engine and Second is Optimization.

1) Search Engine-
 It is a Software System that has been created to search for information from the world wide web according to the user query or a search engine is a system designed to carry out web searches.

2) Optimization-
It is the process of making your website/webpages better for search engines so that it can rank higher.

Types of SEO-

1) On-page SEO:- On-page SEO refers to optimizing the part of your website you control like Content, HTML, Title of the page, URL, etc.

2) Off-page SEO:-  Off-page SEO Focuses on the ranking factors that occur outside of your websites like brand mentions and backlinks.
